Voting Storytime
For a family storytime, the theme of voting could tie in well with upcoming elections. As part of the storytime, partner with the local League of Women Voters to have a voter registration table (these volunteers are nonpartisan and trained in assisting people with voter registration). For the kids, hold an election on favorite picture book characters such as Pete the Cat, Rainbow Fish, the Very Hungry Caterpillar, etc. For an activity, see ideas here: preschool voting activities with printables (thingstoshareandremember.com).
