Children’s Fairyland Book Festival: On Saturday, April 23, 2016, 10am-4pm, Children’s Fairyland will host a book festival celebrating authors and illustrators. Co-sponsored by Chronicle Books and featuring books sold by Laurel Book Store, the Festival will include many local authors and illustrators still to be named. Children’s Fairyland is located at 699 Bellevue Ave., Oakland, CA. The usual entrance fee is required and any adult must be accompanied by a child to enter Children’s Fairyland. Bay Area Storytelling Festival: The 30th Annual Bay Area Storytelling Festival will be held at the Orinda Community Center April 29-May 1, 2016. Six nationally known storytellers will headline this event, which is the final storytelling festival planned by their current leadership. Noted participants include Antonio Rocha, Bil Lepp, Diane Ferlatte, Elizabeth Ellis, Willy Claflin, and Eth-Noh-Tec featuring Nancy Wang and Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo.
