Nancy and her dog Roger go to New York City to see the Broadway musical “Dogs!” when they meet the show’s star, a poodle named Candy. When Candy runs off, Nancy and Roger follow her and end up visiting several notable NYC sites including the Statue of Liberty and Central Park. This book with large flaps also has one elaborate popup, and a map of Manhattan showing the various sites that Nancy visited. The color cartoon illustrations with ink outlines contain the text and dialogue balloons. This may be too delicate for library circulation, but would be a great book for a child visiting New York City for the first time.
