“KPop Demon Hunters” Programming Ideas

“KPop Demon Hunters” Programming Ideas

The most popular film for children in 2025 was the surprise anime musical “KPop Demon Hunters,” which aired on the Netflix streaming service. The animated film celebrates Korean pop music and culture, and features a trio of female heroines who fight evil forces. Commonsense media recommends this PG-rated film for ages 10 and up, so this would make a great hands-on program for 4-8th graders.

“KPop Demon Hunters” tells the story of three singers who make up the band Huntrix. They were trained at a young age to save the world from evil demons. The soundtrack album is a best-seller, so be sure to play it as background music in the crafting area. It is available on Amazon: Amazon.com: KPop Demon Hunters (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film): CDs & Vinyl.

Special thanks to Victoria Flores, Mimi Nguyen, and Caitlin Vaille for contributing several of these ideas! They are all students in San Jose State’s iSchool graduate program for library science. For more on Korean folklore and art, check out the Pop Goes the Page Blog: KPop Demons | Pop Goes the Page.
