Caldecott Medalist Uri Shulevitz Dies: Illustrator Uri Shulevitz has died at age 89. Originally from Poland, he lived in Israel and later moved to the U.S. to attend the Brooklyn Museum Art School. In 1968, he received the Caldecott Medal for The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship, written by Arthur Ransome. He received three Caldecott Honors, for The Treasure, Snow, and How I Learned Geography. Obituary: Uri Shulevitz.
