Author Shirley Hughes Dies: Author/Illustrator Shirley Hughes died at age 94 on Feb. 25, 2022 at her home in England. She created more than fifty children’s books, including the “Dogger” and Alfie” series of picture books. She illustrated another 200 books, often with drawings of children.
