2025 Golden Poppy Awards Announced: The 2025 Golden Poppy Awards were announced on Feb. 19, 2026, given by the California Independent Booksellers Alliance. It honors book creators “who made California their home.” In the children’s titles categories, the winners are Don’t Trust Fish by Neil Sharpson and illustrated by Dan Santat, Queen Bees of Tybee County by Kyle Casey Chu, Run Away with Me by Brian Selznick, Forests by Nell Cross Beckerman and illustrated by Kalen Chock, and Popo the Xolo by Paloma Angelina Lopez and illustrated by Abraham Matias. A special congratulations to ACL member Jenny Andrus for being nominated for Elsa’s Chessboard. 2025 Golden Poppy Book Awards Winners – California Independent Booksellers Alliance.
