Butterflies Storytime – revised
Many of our communities are sites for migrating monarch butterflies, but it is a great insect to focus on for any child. Make these fun butterfly headbands: Butterfly Crown (dltk-kids.com).

Carle, Eric. The Very Hungry Caterpillar. In this class tale, a caterpillar eats different food to get ready to go into his cocoon.
Foley, Greg. Don’t Worry Bear. A caterpillar reassures his friend Bear that he will emerge from his cocoon.
Kann, Victoria. Pinkalicious and the Little Butterfly. The teacher brings monarch caterpillars to class, and they turn into butterflies.
McFarland, Clive. Caterpillar Dreams. Henri dreams of a time when he can fly, and he gets his wish!
Naylor-Ballesteros, Chris. Out of Nowhere. A beetle and caterpillar become best friends, so the beetle searches for caterpillar after he disappears.
Runton, Andy. Owly & Wormy, Friends All Aflutter! The title pair are sad when their plant attracts caterpillars instead of butterflies.
