Librarian Bonnie Janssen Dies

Librarian Bonnie Janssen Dies: Bonnie Janssen died at age 80 in January, 2024. She worked at the Fremont Main Library, part of the Alameda County library system. She eventually became head of Children’s Services, retiring in 2009 after 38 years of service. She loved storytelling, and help to organize the first Bay Area Storytelling Festival. She also oversaw the popular Booklegger program with librarian Elizabeth Overmyer, training hundreds of volunteers to promote reading in classrooms across the county.
