Gene Luen Yang Receives 2023 NSK Neustadt Price for Children’s and Young Adult Literature: Gene Luen Yang from the San Francisco Bay Area is the first graphic novelist to win the NSK Neustadt Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature. The prize was first given in 2003 to Mildred D. Taylor, author of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. The award is sponsored by World Literature Today.
