Caldecott Medalist Paul Goble Dies: Paul Goble, best-known for his picture books and illustrated folklore on Native American culture, died on January 5, 2017 at age 83 from Parkinson’s disease. Originally from England, Goble lived in South Dakota. He received the Caldecott Medal in 1979 for The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses. He was an adopted member of the Yakima and Sioux tribes.
