ACL Members Featured in New Book:Â
Kyle Cassidy has compiled an entertaining celebration of librarians, This Is What a Librarian Looks Like: A Celebration of Libraries, Communities, and Access to Information, from Black Dog & Leventhal pubishers (2017) . ACL members Eva Volin of the Alameda Free Library, Jessie Nachem of Oakland Public, and Amy Cheney of Alameda County are among the many that are included; several others from the Bay Area are also featured. Each person is represented by a color photograph and a quotation; the photos are fun and help convey the individual’s personality. There are also essays from noteworthy authors including Neil Gaiman, Cory Doctorow, and Nancy Pearl. This is an inspiring look at contemporary librarians and their mission to offer information to everyone in the United States.
