Zombie Storytime Revised

Baillie, Kaye. There Was a Young Zombie Who Swallowed a Worm. In this funny take on “There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly,” this time it is a zombie that continually swallows various things.
Burleigh, Robert. The Great Zombie Pumpkin Parade. In this rhyming story, pumpkin-headed zombies lead the Halloween parade.
Colon, Justin. The Zombees. In this rhyming story, zombie bees swarm over the town on Halloween.
Cuyler, Margery. Stompie the Zombie. Stompie the zombie breaks a bone just before the family reunion and needs to get it fixed.
Jackson, Allison. The Bats on the Bus. The school bus is full of monsters in this variation of “Wheels on the Bus,” including zombies who repeat “Here We Come!”
Lacera, Megan. Zombies Don’t Eat Veggies! A zombie has to explain to his parents that he wants to be a vegetarian.
Lefranc, Karin. I Want to Eat Your Books. The kids at the library teach a zombie that books are for reading, not eating.
Lucas, Mike. The Halloween Train. Lots of different scary creatures ride on the Halloween train!
Lucianovic, Stephanie. Zombie and Brain Are Friends. Zeb, a zombie farmer, finds a live baby brain and wants to keep it for his own.
Norman, Kim. The Ghosts Went Floating. In this variation on the song “The Ants Went Marching,” various monsters celebrate Halloween. Lots of counting!
Viorst, Judith. My Mama Says There Aren’t Any Zombies, Ghosts, Vampires, Creatures, Fiends, Goblins, or Things. In this classic, a boy is skeptical of his mother’s advice about zombies.
