Weather - Revised
Weather is a great subject for a toddler or preschool storytime, with lots of classic picture books related to the theme, and new ones being released every month! For a related art project, make one of these fun art projects, such as Rainbow Lightning, Q-tip snowflakes, or weather mobiles: 30 Fun and Easy Weather Art for Kids - Taming Little Monsters.

Archer, Micha. Wind Watchers. Various children experience the wind and weather during the seasons of the year.
Barker, Fiona. I Definitely Don’t Like Winter. Squirrel best friends like to play together, but disagree on playing in the snow.
Dairman, Tara. Go, Baby, Go! Mom and baby go for a jog, but realize they will have to outrun the coming rainstorm.
Fong, Pam. The Little Cloud. Not wanting to be part of a thunderstorm, a little cloud breaks off from the pack and travels to where it is sunny.
Isadora, Rachel. Do I Have to Wear a Coat? Diverse children experience the four seasons by noting the changes in weather.
Kamphius, Tjitske. I’m a Cloud. As a cloud floats over various animals, it describes how it changes from cumulus, to cirrus, to other types of clouds.
McCanna, Tim. Cold. In this rhyming story, a very cold day brings beautiful scenery.
Nelson, Sarah. I Like the Sun. Using a brief, rhyming text, learn about all the great aspects of sunshine.
Redniss, Lauren. Heatwave. School’s out, so people go to the beach – but is it too hot? Luckily, a rainstorm breaks to cool everyone off.
Salas, Laura Purdle. Zap! Clap! Boom! The Story of a Thunderstorm. Three children are out for a walk when it changes from sunny to stormy.
Shand, Jennifer. Rumble, Rumble, Grumble, Grumble: Sounds from the Sky. The sky makes sounds based on the weather in this book that encourages readers to yell out the sounds.
Viau, Nancy. Storm Song. A family plays inside during a thunderstorm and finds many ways to have fun.
