A young child is shown out in nature dealing with rain and wind in this story of affirmation. “Time flew and you grew while roses bloomed, but one day the sun may go, the wild wind may blow,” and the child of indeterminate gender and race is shown building a raft accompanied by a small dog. The narrator is never seen, but the text sounds like what a parent would say. The brief, hand-lettered text and full-color illustrations appear to be done in watercolor, and several pages have die-cut holes that show words or areas of the artwork after a page turn. The most likely use of this is for a parent and child read-aloud so caregivers can help children deal with fear of thunder or insecurity about their abilities.
