Each spread includes a few paragraphs on the instrument and a color cartoon of an animal wearing clothing and playing the instrument; the illustrations resemble the artwork of William Steig (Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, 1969). Each spread also includes a QR code that leads to YouTube videos giving examples of the sound of that instrument, with music by Hans Könnecke.
