When is mud more than simple mud? Apparently all the time, as this informative picture book demonstrates via a variety of animals who use different types of mud for various purposes, including elephants as sunscreen and Egyptian vultures as face paint. Each animal is introduced by showing a part of the animal and its mud, followed by a full explanation on the following page. Digital illustrations show the various animals (wide-eyed and happy looking) using their mud for homes, tunnels, skin coverings, nests, and more.
