What is the history of the Brontosaurus dinosaur, where did the name come from, why did scientists change the name many years ago and then recently restore it? Oh, and why have people (and museums) continued to use the name for decades, long after scientists stopped using it? Albee answers these questions, and many others in this easy-to-understand, informative picture book via the paleontology and scientific process, including early ideas and changes to those ideas over time due to new discoveries. Hsu’s colorful digital illustrations enhance Albee’s text as the story unfolds across the United States and over the years (prehistoric dinosaur times, to the 1870s, to modern times). A small yellow bird continually pops up, adding a bit of comic relief to the detail-rich text and illustrations. A useful, informative, and engaging title which dinosaur fans will enjoy.
