Mosquitoes

This issue we will conclude our listing of storytime themes relating to Catch the Reading Bug, the 2008 Summer Reading Program. Save these for future storytimes on the environment and science.

The African folktale has repetition and sound effects that make it a great readaloud for storytime.

A huge mosquito keeps Zeke and Zelda awake.

Uribe, Veronica. BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ.
A Venezuelan tale of a mosquito that keeps everyone awake.

Pickering, Jill. A LIZARD GOT INTO THE PAINT POTS.
Lizard tries to eat the annoying mosquito, in this story set in the Caribbean.

Scagliotti, Loti. TITO AND THE MOSQUITO.
Tito and his dog befriend a lonely mosquito.

Ada, Alma Floor. THE SONG OF THE TEENY-TINY MOSQUITO..
A frog swallows a mosquito in this book with repetition about the food chain.
