• You are invited to our Monthly Meetings. ACL meetings are held from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Friday of each month, excluding the month of the annual institute. (typically April or May), usually at the Oakland Public Library.*
  
  Oakland meetings begin at 9 AM in the West Auditorium, with access only available from Madison St.
        ** NOTE: The library does not open until noon, direct meeting access is at the West Auditorium doors only.**

  *NOTE: ACL switches meetings from Oakland to the community room at Berkeley Public Library, Central, during facility closures at the Oakland Public Library, the normal meeting location. (Stay tuned for any changes).
  
  Berkeley meetings typically begin at 9 AM, with access available at the staff entrance on Bancroft from 8:45 to 9:15 (if arriving after 9:15, please wait until the Library opens at 10 and enter from the main entrance on Kittredge).
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

• The annual ACL Institute offers proffesional development to Librarians and other interested in a wide variety of topics. The 2013 Institute was held April 12, 2013 at the San Leandro History Museum, with presentations by : Kirk Waller, Donna Graves, Kay Lunine, and Vaunda Nelson.
  - The next Institute will be in April or May 2014 - stayed tuned for more information in late 2013 or early 2014.

• The annual Performers' Showcase offers the opportunity to meet and evaluate a variety of children's performers active in the Bay Area. The last Performers showcase was held Feb 2, 2013. - The next will be February 2014.

• The Distinguished Books Roundups are held once a year, typically sometime toward the end of January. This meeting finializes the list of the best titles reviewed over the past year.
